reneechevalier@stanfordalumni.org "I work to help pupils develop this excitement into a real understanding and appreciation for music of all styles and centuries."
"What beautiful music coming out of my little man." says Mandy of 9-year old Nick. "It's not that she's so good, but what she plays is so enjoyable to listen to as she practices," glows George of daughter Decatur, a pianist of six months.
Dr. Renee is always trying to find creative, fun ways to make playing the piano a total musical experience: mixing classics with popular and contemporary works, reading and performing of other's works with improvising and composing one's own music.
"In this way pupils can develop their love of music in a warm, supportive atmosphere. Learning about music and developing pianistic skills should be a truly enjoyable experience for pupils of any age, whether or not they wish to follow a career in music."
Every student brings their own desires and challenges, whether they are five years old or eighty-five; Dr. Renee is as much at home with the artist pupil as with the young beginner. She welcomes anyone who loves music and wants to delve into its wonderful secrets.
Pupils range from the young beginner through the artist pupil or piano teacher desiring continuing education. Special challenges or handicaps are treated gently and with care to enable the student to learn for him or herself how to work through any difficulty with the least pressure or self-consciousness. |
