About Dr. Renee Chevalier
Dr. Renee has been teaching piano to students of all ages at every level of development for more than 40 years. Anyone who wants to climb further in their playing is the perfect age to do so. She herself grew up in a musical family where sister, brother, mother and father delighted in the music-making going on in the family home. As a result she tries to give her students’ families the same wonderful atmosphere encouraging everyone in the family to pursue their fascination with the piano. Every student can learn something new and exciting with every lesson. Her students love her piano lessons, saying that they have added a great amount of pleasure to their lives even as they have become good pianists.
Renee's educational background has helped her become the piano master that she is today. She has an A.B. degree from the University of California Berkeley, an M.A. degree in piano performance from San Francisco State University, and a Ph.D. in music theory of the 18th century from Stanford University. She is also a proud member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and Music Teachers' Association of California™ (MTAC).
